Head of Built Environment
£46,803 – £53,919 + Market Supplement up to £5,781 | Permanent | 35 hours | Ipswich & Multi-Site
Casanovas Recruitment is working with a well-established education provider to appoint a Head of Built Environment.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced leader from the built environment, construction or technical education sector to take responsibility for a broad and growing area of provision.
You’ll lead a team and oversee programmes including T Levels, apprenticeships, Higher Technical Qualifications and degree-level pathways, with a real opportunity to develop the curriculum and strengthen links with industry.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you’ll be responsible for:
* Leading and developing teaching and support teams
* Driving quality, learner achievement and performance
* Developing curriculum in line with industry and future skills needs
* Building strong relationships with employers and industry partners
* Supporting the growth of apprenticeships, higher-level and commercial provision
* Using performance data to identify improvements and drive better outcomes
* Coaching and developing staff through effective performance management
* Representing the organisation at industry and employer events
* Maintaining a small teaching commitment within your specialist area
About You
We’re looking for an experienced and credible leader who understands both education and the built environment.
You’ll ideally have experience leading teams within further education, higher education, apprenticeships, construction or a related technical education setting, together with a good understanding of teaching, learning and assessment.
Preferred/ essential:
* Degree or relevant professional qualification
* Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent
* Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent
* Experience leading and developing teams
* Experience within Built Environment, Construction or a related technical sector
* Knowledge of T Levels, apprenticeships, higher technical or degree-level provision
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to use data to improve performance and outcomes
Desirable:
* Leadership or management qualification
* Assessor and/or IQA qualification
* Professional membership such as RICS, CIOB, ICE or similar
* Experience managing budgets or organisational change
