Head of Business Development

Bath Rugby is highly regarded across the world rugby landscape with a proud heritage of success and an impressive number of past and present international players representing the Club (many of whom have graduated through their outstanding Academy). It boasts a strong, loyal and passionate fan base and home games are played at the idyllic Recreation Ground in the city centre.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To deliver the clubs business development strategy develop commercial relationships while looking to source and secure new commercial revenue streams to grow the club in line with agreed club objectives.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sponsorship

- Attract new corporate partners to the Club through the identification, sale and negotiation of agreed packages. Provide a comprehensive handover to the partnerships Manager for ongoing management of these accounts to ensure expectations are met and incremental income opportunities secured;
Advertising

- Lead staff on the sale of perimeter LED and static advertising boards, website, programme pages, team sheets, digital media and other ambient opportunities including player kit sponsors and others.
Women’s Team

- Responsibility for generating sponsorship revenue for womens rugby
Community

- Responsibility for generating revenue without additional resources.
Legal Contracts

- Responsible for drafting commercial agreements and often a first point of review for receiving contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Management experience essential.
Sales experience in a similar role essential.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, be able to identify business decision makers and converse intelligently will all levels of an organization, from Managers to Directors.
Commercially astute and highly motivated with a can do attitude.
Must be a great team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Must be confident and well spoken with an excellent telephone manner.
Must have the ability to develop within the role, learn new skills and also deal with change.
To continually improve team and individual performance.

LOCATION:
This role is primarily based at Bath Rugby's Head Office in Farleigh Hungerford (BA2 7RW) on the outskirts of Bath, with occasional work at The Rec in Bath City Centre. The role holder should live in a commutable distance to Bath and have their own transportation due to location and limited public transport.
