Head of Care (SEND)

Our client is currently recruiting for a live in Head of Care to be a member of a multi-disciplinary team charged with the task of providing a warm, caring environment, which fosters and develops good personal relationships and which meets pupil's needs for security, reassurance of personal worth, stimulation and affection.

We are seeking a Head of Care with Level 5 Leadership and Management for Health & Social Care.

Please note: This is a live in position on site, which comes with a free private 3-bedroomed accommodation.

Key Responsibilities for the Head of Care

To be a member of the senior management team and in the absence of the Principal and the Deputy Principal to carry out such responsibilities as relate to the operation of the school.
To attend weekly senior staff meetings in a liaison and advisory capacity
To chair care staff meetings on a regular basis and lead the care team
To ensure that staff roles and areas of responsibility are clearly understood through regular staff meetings, discussions and supervision in conjunction with line-management input into the staff support and development programme for child care staff
To maintain clear, effective and impartial communication between education, care and domestic staff and the senior management team
To monitor objectively the quality of relationships between pupils, between staff and pupils, and between staff, with the constant aim of improvement.
In liaison with the Principal to plan and deliver training and induction programmes for care staff
To timetable and employ care staff and teachers undertaking additional duties to meet the particular demands of the pupils at various times. To ensure that the child care team understand and are able to undertake their duties and responsibilities satisfactorily and, where necessary, to arrange for the provision of training in consultation with the Principal
To monitor, evaluate and advise on the collation and submission of individual social programmes and review reports to annual and six monthly review meetings
To ensure that full and complete casework records on pupil progress are maintained and that sound decisions are made and carried out
To organise, monitor and evaluate a recreational and social programme that engages pupils in constructive, enterprising and a socially extending range of leisure activities
To develop and maintain a case co-ordinating role with regard to particular pupils, and ensure that regular discussions on those pupils' overall progress are held between Class Teacher and Keyworker
To be responsible for the co-ordination of all medical aspects of the running of the school with regard to pupilsPlease apply as directed
