Head of Commercial Finance

My client, one of the most exciting brands in the North West, is looking to hire a Head of Commercial Finance to join their Liverpool head office.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Commercial Finance to join a thriving organisation based in Liverpool.

This pivotal role is designed for an experienced finance professional who is passionate about supporting business decision-making, driving profitability, and optimising financial performance across the company.

As the Head of Commercial Finance, you will play a crucial part in shaping the financial strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams to deliver insightful analysis and robust reporting.

What you'll do:

• Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI reporting, ensuring all metrics-both financial and non-financial-are relevant, timely, and clearly communicated throughout the business.
• Oversee strategic analysis of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance evaluation to support informed decision-making at every level.
• Take ownership of the internal reporting suite by managing daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports that provide valuable insights into business performance.
• Collaborate with operations teams to foster understanding of financial data and key performance indicators across departments.
• Identify critical KPIs throughout the organisation and ensure they are accurately reflected in management information systems for effective monitoring.
• Work alongside various business units to guarantee the integrity of all commercial data across systems and reporting platforms.
• Manage analytical tools and systems within the company, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and meet evolving business needs.
• Lead the development and maintenance of forecasting models-including profit & loss statements and balance sheets-to support long-term planning.
• Conduct detailed sales analytics covering spend patterns, sales mix, day parts, and other relevant metrics to inform commercial decisions.
• Support continuous improvement by challenging current commercial performance and identifying areas for enhancement or optimisation.

What you bring:

• Hold a recognised accounting qualification such as ACA or CIMA (CIMA preferred), with at least two years' post-qualification experience in a relevant role.
• Demonstrate proven experience in commercially focused finance positions where your insights have supported business growth or transformation.
• Multisite/hospitality experience highly desirable.
• Showcase strong commercial awareness with an ability to understand key drivers behind business performance and profitability.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable you to present complex information in an engaging manner to diverse audiences.
• Display outstanding time management abilities with a track record of meeting deadlines consistently while balancing multiple priorities effectively.
• Be highly detail-oriented with a solution-focused approach that allows you to address challenges constructively within fast-evolving environments.
• Exhibit agility in adapting to changing circumstances while remaining committed to delivering high-quality results under pressure.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using analytical tools and systems relevant to commercial finance functions within large organisations.
• Bring a proactive mindset that enables you to identify opportunities for improvement or efficiency gains across financial processes.
