Head of Commercial Lines, General Insurance 2025

The primary function of this position is to deliver overall leadership and direction to the Commercial Lines (CLS) team as well as meeting targets, overseeing the day-to-day supervision and control of the CLS team to ensure quality service to clients, manage and control client relationships, and support consultants/producers in their efforts to attract and retain clients. Experienced in dealing with all Commercial Lines of insurance for independents, SME & Corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Nexus CEO to design and implement strategy to generate new business and new markets
• Coordinate with Head of General Insurance/consultants on strategic account issues and potential challenges
• Utilize work flows and processes to initiate and maintain contact with clients as well as to update coverages, review exposures, and discuss opportunities for account management.
• Monitor CLS team performance to ensure quality service (policy renewal, claims, endorsement, premium payment collection), quote to issuance process is within agreed SLA, maintain tracker for missed SLA’s.
• Develop and maintains effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders including management team contract counter parties, CLS clients and business partners.
• Build and maintain a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication and coaching of direct reports and staff.
• Build the CLS Portfolio through your existing client book & network.
• Demonstrate a "can do" mindset and a professional attitude at all times.
• Accurate record keeping, reporting, case management - as per business process requirements.
• Adherence to UW, compliance & department guidelines in line with the company’s SOP.

What we are looking for:

• Ideally a minimum of 5 years in Management of Commercial Lines Insurance in the region including underwriting, coverage and rate analysis with policy implementation & claim management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance cover and an ability to communicate this knowledge clearly to staff, clients and underwriters.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Be able to multi-task and prioritise workload.
• Fluent in English is mandatory, fluent in any other language is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook.
• CII is a or other General Insurance Certification is mandatory.

• Base Salary: AED25k - 35k depending on experience
