Job Description - Head of Commercial Property

Head of Commercial Property – Midlands

Midlands (based out of any Midands office)

Salary DOE

Monday – Friday full time, permanent

This senior role involves leading and supervising a property law team, ensuring delivery of high-quality services to clients, meeting financial and operational targets, and supporting business growth. The position combines strategy, leadership, people management, technical oversight, and direct case handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy
- Manage and supervise team members.
- Monitor performance, budgets, and targets.
- Drive business development and identify growth opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with other regional heads to maintain consistency.
People Management
- Conduct supervision, one-to-ones, and appraisals.
- Set objectives and performance targets.
- Recruit, train, and retain staff with HR support.
- Mentor, coach, and develop fee earners, including trainees.
- Act as a role model and provide inspirational leadership.
Technical & Casework Oversight
- Ensure cases are managed effectively and compliantly.
- Provide advice on complex or high-profile matters.
- Oversee training and updates on legal changes.
- Conduct file reviews and monitor time recording.
- Manage debt, client files, and compliance with quality standards.
- Handle client complaints at first stage and promote feedback collection.
