An exciting senior opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Real Estate Solicitor to lead a growing and successful department. Working closely with the Partner heading the wider Corporate Commercial/Commercial Real Estate team, this leadership role will combine high level fee earning with department strategy, supervision, and business development.

The Role As Head of Department, you’ll:
• Lead and manage the Commercial Real Estate team
• Handle complex transactions alongside the wider team and partners
• Oversee work allocation, departmental planning, and team development
• Collaborate with the Corporate team on property elements of commercial deals
• Drive marketing and business development initiatives
• Contribute at a strategic level through HOD and firmwide leadership meetings
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, SRA regulations, and CPD

What We're Looking For
• Senior level experience in commercial property law (ideally 8+ PQE)
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a legal team
• Strong technical expertise with a commercial, client-focused approach
• Confident managing people, caseloads, and departmental growth
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
• A proactive mindset towards marketing and business development
