About Bits:

Bits is a Y Combinator backed consumer fintech that does $xmn in revenue, is profitable, and growing rapidly. We help people build credit, and our flagship product is the Bits Credit Card, though nowadays we are more focused on our AI offering and the US.

Role Overview:

Basically, you'll be working with the Founder, on growth (new authorizations, assessing risks with new ideas and products, updating our legal docs periodiically). And on any ongoing legal matters for the company.

If you value independence and want (would love to?) be part of building product, then this is an excellent role. The founder is customer (and thus product) obsessed, so you'll find great alignment with him if you too are product (and customer) obsessed.

Things move REALLY fast, and this definitely isnt a 9-5 job. Maybe 9/9/5 or something like that.

• We are open to two types of profiles: those with 10+ years experience in compliance roles, and those with 0 years of compliance experience (but 2-3 years of legal experience). Basically, you either bring experience, or energy. Unlikely to be both.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., Consumer Credit , Payment Services and compliance best practice (only really applies if you're the former category).
• Thick skin - it's a startup.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills. Obviously.
• Willingness to work solo. You probably won't have a team for a while, if at all.
• Positive personality. Life's too short to be working with people who are negative.
• Prior SMF experience preferred.
