Key accountabilities:

The Head of Cyber Operations, reporting to the CISO, will orchestrate a comprehensive cyber defence strategy to protect critical national infrastructure (CNI) and operational technology (OT) systems, the enterprise systems and the employees of National Gas from cyber threats, by:

Team Leadership:

• Lead and manage multiple cybersecurity teams, ensuring efficient and effective operations.


• Provide guidance and support to team leads and members.


• Foster a culture of excellence, learning, and collaboration within the teams.


• Engage with stakeholders, report to senior management, and collaborate with external partners.

Cyber Defence Strategy:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive cyber operations strategy for CNI and OT systems.


• Establish and update policies, procedures, and playbooks to respond to cyber threats.


• Ensure alignment with national and international cybersecurity standards and regulations.

Incident Response and Detection:

• Oversee the management of cyber incidents, ensuring timely and effective responses.


• Lead the CSIRT in monitoring and detecting cybersecurity threats and incidents in real-time.


• Collaborate with teams to conduct incident investigations and develop response plans.

Threat Intelligence and Hunting:

• Develop and maintain threat intelligence capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats.


• Lead proactive threat hunting initiatives to identify and mitigate potential threats.


• Collaborate with external sources and information sharing organizations for threat information.

Vulnerability Management and Testing:

• Manage vulnerability assessments and penetration testing programs to identify weaknesses.


• Ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities by working with stakeholders.


• Review testing findings and provide guidance for security improvements.

About you:

Essential:

• Extensive experience in managing cybersecurity teams and programs, cybersecurity leadership and management.


• In-depth knowledge of incident response, threat detection, and threat intelligence.


• Familiarity with CNI and OT technology, including SCADA, ICS, and PLC systems.


• Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, technologies, and standards.


• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.


• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.


• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.


• Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).


• Experience in red teaming, threat modelling, and advanced adversarial simulation.


• Familiarity with national and international cybersecurity standards.


• Knowledge of cloud security, IoT security, and emerging technologies.


• Programming and scripting skills for automation and custom testing tools.


• Experience in collaborating with government agencies and law enforcement.


• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, etc.).


• Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances.
