A well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Havering is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Science to lead a successful department from September 2025. We are working in partnership with the school to recruit an outstanding candidate who can bring energy, innovation, and a clear vision for the future of science education.

The Role: As Head of Science, you will lead a committed team of subject specialists to ensure the delivery of a rich, engaging and rigorous curriculum across all key stages. You will be responsible for driving standards, leading on curriculum development, and embedding a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and develop the Science department

• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

• Monitor and track student progress to secure excellent outcomes

• Develop enrichment opportunities and promote a love of science across the school

Ideal Candidate:

• A qualified teacher with QTS and a strong track record of success in science teaching

• Experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting

• Excellent subject knowledge and a clear vision for science education

• A collaborative leader who inspires staff and students alike
