Head of Development

Our client, a well-established SaaS business with a strong reputation in its sector, is seeking a strategic and people-focused Head of Development to lead their digital function. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone who excels in team development, technical direction, and cross-functional collaboration.

The successful candidate will oversee a talented team of developers and QA professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions that align with the company's long-term goals.

• Lead and support cross-functional development teams (Frontend: React/JavaScript, Backend: Node.js/.NET Core)
• Oversee QA operations and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders (Creative Director, Head of Product, Head of Delivery) to align technical delivery with business strategy
• Provide mentorship and career development support through regular 1:1s and performance reviews
• Guide architectural decisions and ensure best practices are followed across all projects
• Contribute to project planning and delivery in partnership with UX, Design, and Project Management teams

• Proven experience in a senior development leadership role within a SaaS environment
• Strong technical understanding of modern development practices and tools (React, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Strategic thinker with a collaborative approach and a focus on continuous improvement
• Passionate about building and nurturing high-performing teams

• Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 per annum
