Job Description - Head of Engineering (NPI, Technical, Design)
The Head of Engineering (NPI, Technical, Design) will lead and oversee engineering and new product introduction (NPI) initiatives within a manufacturing setting. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in driving innovation and optimising engineering processes in a senior leadership role.

Description
Lead the engineering and NPI teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification. Develop and implement strategies for new product development and process improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering objectives with business goals. Oversee the design, testing, and production phases of new products. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations across all engineering activities. Monitor and manage budgets related to engineering and NPI projects. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff. Drive innovation and continuous improvement across all engineering processes Own the product development and design strategy Hold senior accountability for the end-to-end NPI Hold overall accountability for delivery of the Design project portfolio Own and manage the Design & R&D department budget (capex and opex), including investment cases for facilities, tools, systems and headcount, delivering value for money. Ensure the department operates to the company's H&S standards at all times and hold senior accountability for a safe working environment and culture across the Design and R&D / Test facilities. Partner at a senior level with Commercial, Purchasing, Operations / Manufacturing and Quality to align the product pipeline, resolve escalations and ensure a smooth design-to-production transition.
Profile
A successful Head of NPI & Engineering should have:
A strong background in engineering, particularly within the manufacturing sector. You will have a proven track record as and engineering or engineering director within the manufacturing sector Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects. Knowledge of new product development processes and methodologies. Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
