We are a prestigious educational organization in the primary/secondary education industry, is seeking an exceptional individual to join our exceptional school in Manchester as the Head of English. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the English department and driving academic excellence within the subject. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual who can make a significant impact on the learning journey of our students. The position will commence in September.

As the Head of English you will be responsible for developing and implementing an exceptional English curriculum, supporting and mentoring teachers, and fostering a love for literature and language among students. We are seeking a visionary leader who can inspire and guide both students and staff to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the English department, providing guidance and support to teachers


• Develop and implement an engaging and rigorous English curriculum


• Collaborate with fellow academic leaders to enhance cross-curricular initiatives


• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement


• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment


• Ensure the effective use of resources and technology within the department


• Maintain open communication with parents regarding students' academic performance


• Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of English education

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English or a related field


• Teaching certification and significant teaching experience


• Proven experience as a Head of English or in a similar leadership role


• Outstanding knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum


• Strong leadership and management skills


• Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Up-to-date knowledge of current educational trends and best practices


• Passion for English education and dedication to academic excellence
