Head of Hospitality and Events
Central London Venue
65k plus bonus and bens

The Head of Hospitality Events Operations forms part of the senior leadership team of the venues Hospitality and Events. It plays an important role in the businesses operating strategy. Venue logistics, food & beverage operations, health & safety, and financial performance across multiple sites. My client is ideally looking for someone from a UVL venue background or who has worked for a caterer. This is a great role for a seasoned operator who is looking for a better work life balance.

The Role:
• Oversee the delivery of all food and beverage, servicing a variety of clients from corporate to internal events and private clients.
• Shared budget holder for the department, working closely with the Director and Department Heads to ensure events are delivered in line with agreed financial targets and KPI’s.
• Create and lead on Events’ standards of operations ensuring staff are sufficiently trained.
• Provide inspirational, visible leadership to the operations management and supervisory team.
• Work with Head Chef and Executive Chef to plan for appropriate delivery of food, ensuring relevant food safety protocol is adhered to and efficient service models.
• Working with the Director of Finance ensure Events has adequate POS systems, and the supporting infrastructure to deliver large scale events.
• Working with Health and Safety Officer and security maintain and update all relevant health and safety protocols including RAMS and respond to Food Alert audits.
• Oversee the build and breakdown of catered events.
• Demonstrate ability to adopt new working practices, creating solutions to improve systems and procedures.
• Ensure the team provides timely, accurate financial information for the invoice process.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with this position when requested.
• Be responsible for staff rotas, to ensure all agencies and zero-hour staff are charged correctly and paid

The Candidate:
• Proven comprehensive experience managing catering for large-scale events, preferably in a unique venue
• Experience in managing and working with a wide range of external and internal suppliers with the ability to oversee, devise and manage operational procedures.
• Experience in delivering operational and labour cost as per budget.
• Excellent people management skills, with proven experience of having successfully managed a large team.
• Ability to think strategically and to anticipate problems leading up to and during an event.
• Passionate about food, beverage, and keeping up with the latest food trends.
• A positive role model and team member
• Experience in liaison with clients both private and corporate, managing their expectations.
• Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating actively listening, problem-solving and adaptability.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively and positively with all colleagues and with a diverse customer base.
• Excellent Events Operations skills both in planning and on the day delivery

This is a great role with mainly mon-fri working hours and the very odd weekend.
