Head of Events - Hitchin

Our client, a reputable not-for-profit organisation based in Hertfordshire, is looking for an events professional with a passion for educational development to join their in-house Operations and Technology team, leading the Events Team, following a major strategy review and acquired a new training and learning management platform.

You will have boundless self-motivation and previous experience providing exceptional end-to-end event services, preferably within an educational setting for this stimulating role.

The Role

You will play a key role in redefining the events strategy and driving change to deliver outstanding events on a national level, which creates commercial value and a positive impact on the educational sector.

• Create and oversee full events strategy and targets for the new three years


• Conduct market mapping of events and conferences


• Lead and develop an effective and efficient events team, provide action plans, targets, training, and projects


• Motivate and inspire direct reports (3 direct reports), conducting regular mentoring sessions


• Deliver leading online and offline events, raising brand awareness and generating commercial value


• Oversee budgets, vendor negotiations, exhibition sales and sponsorship deals.

About You

• Experience delivering end-to-end B2b conferences and events both in person and using virtual platforms


• Experience building, mentoring, and coaching a team


• Experience in setting a strategy, improving event operations, executing processes, and managing budgets


• Passionate and knowledgeable about delivering events


• Posses excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively

Due to the location of their Stevenage based head office this role is commutable from most parts of Hertfordshire including, Hitchin, Hertford, Luton, Hatfield, Royston and Bishop’s Stortford.
