About the Opportunity:
I'm working exclusively with a highly respected and long-established law firm in Tameside, which is looking to appoint a Head of Private Family Law to lead and develop their busy and growing family team.

This is a standout opportunity for an experienced Family Solicitor who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service and looking to take the next step in their leadership career within a supportive and progressive firm. The team already has a strong pipeline of work, so you'll be stepping into a well-established caseload with real scope to shape the department's future.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Leading the Private Family Law department, overseeing a team of solicitors and support staff

• Managing a caseload of complex private family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy, private children disputes, cohabitation matters, and pre/post-nuptial agreements

• Acting as the key point of contact for high-net-worth and longstanding clients

• Driving departmental growth through client development and strategic planning

• Supervising junior fee earners and contributing to their ongoing development and training

• Supporting compliance with regulatory frameworks including Lexcel and SRA standards

What We're Looking For:

• A qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of 6 years PQE in private family law

• Experience handling a broad range of complex family law cases, ideally including HNW matters

• Proven ability to lead or supervise a team - this could suit an existing Head of Department or a confident Senior Associate ready to step up

• Strong business development and client relationship management skills

• A commercial and strategic mindset with a genuine commitment to supporting clients through sensitive and life-changing situations

• Panel accreditation or Resolution membership would be advantageous, but not essential
