Head of Finance

My client

Hays Senior Finance are partnering with an established 6m turnover business based on the outskirts of Cirencester, who are looking to take on a Head of Finance. They are in an exciting phase of growth and integration, and they are looking for a commercially minded, strategic, and hands-on Head of Finance to lead their financial function into the next chapter.

Role Overview

As Head of Finance, you will own and lead all aspects of financial strategy, planning, operations, and reporting. You will ensure financial integrity and performance while enabling scalable growth. This is a critical leadership role, acting as a financial partner to the executive team, a driver of operational efficiency, and a steward of strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead finance function with full P&L responsibility
• Partner with senior leadership to drive commercial and strategic decision-making
• Contribute to business planning, growth strategies
• Be responsible for all levels of accounting, from processing invoices to presenting the monthly accounts
• Cash flow reporting
• Forefront of projects within finance and wider business
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end closings, financial statements, and group reporting
• Maintain rigorous financial controls, compliance, and risk management
• Optimise financial processes, systems, and KPIs to enable data-driven management
• Implement best practices in cost control, pricing, and margin management

Qualifications & Skills

• Qualified preferential but not essential
• 7-10+ years of experience in senior finance roles, ideally within manufacturing or supply chain
• Strong financial leadership experience with full P&L ownership
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
