Job Description - Head of Finance

Job Title: Head of Finance
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
Working Style: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days from home)

Key Duties:

Lead and manage the finance team, providing clear direction and strategic leadership to ensure optimal financial performance.
Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements, management accounts, and financial reports for senior leadership, with an emphasis on analysis and insights.
Act as a key advisor to the executive team, providing high-level financial advice on all major decisions, including business strategy, acquisitions, and capital expenditure.
Take full ownership of budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and managing the reconciliation of variances.
Closely monitor cash flow and working capital, recommending actions to maintain financial health and mitigate risks.
Develop, implement, and enforce financial controls, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, compliance with tax regulations, and robust internal controls.
Lead the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring the timely filing of statutory returns and compliance with corporate tax laws.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, and tax authorities, ensuring effective communication and management of financial relationships.
Oversee and continuously improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures, with a focus on efficiency and automation.
Manage and mentor a team of qualified accountants and finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and development.

Requirements:

ACCA or CIMA qualification (essential), with a proven track record of at least 5+ years in senior finance roles within a corporate environment.
Demonstrable experience in financial leadership, having managed financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow at a senior level.
Extensive experience in the preparation of monthly management accounts, statutory reporting, and year-end audits.
Strong understanding of UK tax law and financial regulations, with a proven ability to ensure compliance in complex financial environments.
Experience in driving strategic financial decision-making, including advising senior management on business strategy, cost management, and capital investment.
Advanced Excel skills, with experience in financial systems and ERP solutions.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
