Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Suffolk for a Head of Finance to join the team on a permanent basis. The Head of Finance will work closely with the Director of Resources and will lead the Council’s operational finance team to develop robust and compliant financial processes across the Council and to ensure managers across the Council are supported to effectively manage their budgets.

You will also oversee the production of the annual Statement of Accounts, and the relationships with internal and external audit.
The finance team will report to the Head of Finance, who cover the full range of a local authority finance function. This includes budgetary control, financial reporting, management accounting, treasury management, income collection and maintaining the corporate finance ICT system, Agresso.

CandidateCriteria

• Qualified CCAB/CIMA Accountant with extensive experience
• Experience at Head of Finance/Senior level in a Local Authority Finance environment
• Experience of leading on financial strategy and managing a team
• Experience of budgetary control and leading the closure of accounts process
• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
