Head of Finance

Our Client, a dynamic SME at a pivotal stage of their growth journey, can offer the right candidate a clear path of progression to the role of Finance Director.

Having experienced rapid growth in recent years, the business now requires a dedicated professional to take ownership of its evolving requirements. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make a real impact in a growing company.

• Initially taking on the role of Financial Controller/Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be hands on in building a robust financial infrastructure, ensuring accurate controls are in place and systems and processes run correctly.

• You will be technically strong but naturally commercial in your outlook, working closely with the Owners/Board who very much see Finance as being embedded in the business rather than back office.

• You will mentor and develop a small team, fostering a high performing culture.

• You will also provide insightful business partnering across the business, laying the groundwork for the role to evolve into the role of Finance Director as the company scales.

This role offers a unique blend of strategic input and hands-on operational involvement,

requiring a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Candidate Profile;

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven track record of progressive financial experience to at least a Financial Controller role or equivalent ideally within an SME environment
• Experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders
• Strong financial reporting skillset
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and present financial information effectively.
• Ambitious and driven with a desire to progress to Finance Director.
• A collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• Proactive with a desire for continuous improvement
• Willingness to be hands-on when needed to support any level of business

Progression to Finance Director:

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the capabilities and strategic thinking required to evolve into the Finance Director role, contingent on individual performance and the company's growth trajectory. This progression will involve taking on greater strategic responsibility, further developing the finance function, and playing a key role in shaping the growth of the business.
