Based: North Manchester - hybrid working

Salary: highly dependent on experience + bonus + benefits + potential future FD opportunity

I am exclusively working with a well-established, growing SME business with exciting plans for the next few years . This role will be supporting the MD and board on strategic growth, potential future acquisitions, commercial finance and driving growth with the opportunity to potentially step up to FD in the next few years.

This is a truly exciting opportunity for an experienced number 1 OR someone looking to step up into that role for their own career progression sitting on the SLT

Role:

• Overseeing finance team and recruitment for future roles
• Working closely with the MD on future acquisitions and integrating them into the group structure
• Presenting monthly and quarterly board packs/management accounts to the board
• Working with the MD on strategic business growth, organic & acquisition
• Responsible for all external relationships - banks, insurers, legal
• Overseeing all accounting processes & financial ledgers for company
• Financial modelling on current and future plans with forecasts & budgets, updating pricing & costing models
• Cash management, treasury & hedging across multiple currencies
• Business partnering with key stakeholders challenging on costs, budgets and business impact
• Identifying operational improvements through finance and wider business
• Overseeing annual audit, reviewing group statutory accounts & tax return
• Evaluating capital expenditure, reviewing supplier contracts
• Project work alongside the MD including due diligence on acquisitions

Experience:

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified essential
• Experience in logistics / distribution essential
• Acquisitions experience desirable, not essential
• Experience as number 1 or number 2 in SME with the ability to present to the board essential
• Team management & leadership skills essential
