Job Description - Head of Finance

Head of Finance
  • Annual Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
  • Location: Remote, based out of Colchester Office
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Join our specialist provider of learning services across London and Essex. With over 30 years of experience, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional care across various sectors including dementia, elderly care, end of life, and mental health.

As the Head of Finance, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering our financial strategy and managing the Finance department.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and deliver the financial strategy.
  • Oversee the management and delivery of financial services.
  • Ensure financial systems support business development and align with organisational objectives and plans.
  • Explore and evaluate financing opportunities for new business.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and risk management arrangements.
  • Provide final sign-off on payroll, Management Accounts, Annual Accounts, and Trustee Reports.
  • Produce annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, KPIs, and cash flow information.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors.
  • Monitor and report to the Board on current pension risks and budgetary performance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulatory requirements and statutory obligations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Fully qualified CCAB, educated to university entrance level or above.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior management level.
  • Direct experience in staff line management and sound people management skills.
  • Ability to operate at a strategic management level.
  • Knowledge of the strategic and funding issues affecting the provision of care.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling for care tenders and acquisitions.
  • Fully computer literate with a strong working knowledge of Finance software systems.
  • Effective team management and development skills.
  • Must be a car driver with a vehicle available for use for work-related travel.
