Head of Finance

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will take ownership of financial reporting, including management accounts and annual financial statements. You will lead budgeting and forecasting activities, manage the external audit process, and ensure robust internal financial controls are in place. Key part of this role involves implementing a new finance system to enhance reporting, analysis, and control.

Description

• Lead the Finance Team, providing clear direction and promoting a culture of accuracy, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Manage the preparation and presentation of timely management accounts and financial statements, ensuring audit readiness.

• Oversee all financial control processes including ledgers, VAT returns, reconciliations, and fixed asset management.

• Lead the annual budgeting process and support multi-year financial forecasting.

• Drive the implementation and continual enhancement of financial systems and processes.

• Ensure compliance with tax obligations, statutory returns, and institutional financial policies.

• Support staff development and provide financial training for budget holders and other stakeholders.

Profile

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Commitment to professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.

Job Offer

• Competitive salary within the range of £60,000 to £65,000.
