Head of Finance

Axon Moore is excited to have been retained to recruit a Head of Finance role for a highly entrepreneurial, family-owned investment management company based in Cheshire. With a current turnover of c.£30m, the Group is poised for significant growth through organic expansion and high-scale acquisitions.

You will report to the calibre Group FD and play a pivotal role in the company's evolution towards a centralised finance structure. They are looking for a qualified accountant with a proactive and practical approach, emphasising teamwork over individual ego.

This critical hire will spearhead the financial transformation, transitioning from a decentralised model to a streamlined, high-performing team at Group level. The role encompasses overseeing financial control, planning, and reporting to establish a scalable group finance infrastructure.

To be considered, you should be ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with PQE gained in a multi-entity setting, preferably within a group or Divisional HQ. You should be a hands-on leader with strong experience of month-end close, board reporting, and audit processes. Demonstrated success in finance transformation, system implementations, or centralisation is essential, along with a solid grounding in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis is key for success in the role. Excellent Excel and data interpretation skills, including model and dashboard creation is also required.

You will need to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, be adept at navigating change and uncertainty with integrity and professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, enabling you to effectively challenge, influence, and mentor others.
