Head of Finance

A £100m turnover division of a privately owned international supplier of specialist equipment is seeking a Head of Finance to lead all financial operations, reporting directly to the senior leadership team. This is a full-time role ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong technical and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed board commentary
• Reconcile all balance sheet control accounts and oversee monthly payroll submissions
• Review and approve purchase ledger payments and ensure strong financial controls
• Produce and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring full HMRC compliance
• Lead year-end statutory accounts preparation and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and bankers
• Support the tender process with accurate financial information and insight
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports for senior management
• Oversee all insurance-related matters, including annual renewals and claims monitoring
• Work closely with the wider group finance team to ensure alignment and reporting consistency

What We’re Looking For:

• A fully qualified accountant, ideally trained within practice
• Strong understanding of statutory accounting, payroll, and VAT compliance
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills with the ability to influence at board level
• Proven track record of working with auditors, external advisors, and cross-functional teams
• Highly organised with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
