Job Description - Head of Finance

About The Company:

A fascinating charitable organisation that supports a diverse demographic, they hold community outreach and sustainability at their heart.

The Role:

We are looking for a Head of Finance to join our client. The position will lead to further growth as the organisation makes progress in new projects, supporting more people year on year.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic financial leadership, advising senior management and the board across multiple entities, and managing financial risk.
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting including management accounts, cash flow forecasts, VAT returns, and year-end processes.
Lead budget preparation for funding bids and investments, and ensure accurate grant reporting and departmental budget updates.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function, ensuring effective implementation of financial operations including payroll, pensions, and credit control.

Desirable Skills:

Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Experience in budgeting, forecasting & UK Charity SORP
Experience leading a small finance team and liaising with external accountants
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in financial software; Xero & Excel.
