Head of Finance

MERJE is seeking a highly skilled Head of Finance for a highly entrepreneurial, privately owned fast-growing start up bridging lender who is entering their next phase of growth and have exciting plans for the future

The Role

The Head of Finance position is a pivotal role and offers an exciting opportunity to shape the financial future of a growing lender. You would be responsible for building and leading the finance function and pay a crucial part in the company's strategic growth

You will be instrumental in providing robust financial oversight, implementing financial controls, managing liquidity, and producing high-quality reporting. You will also drive forecasting and planning to support our growth, investor requirements, and regulatory obligations

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting processes ensuring accurate Management Accounts
• Preparation of board level reporting packs including Loan book performance
• Liaise with auditors for delivery of annual statutory accounts and manage process
• Develop and maintain cashflow forecasts and liquidity models
• Lead Budgeting and Variance analysis across the business
• Build complex financial models to forecast loan book growth and profitability
• Prepare investor reporting packs and support institutional funding efforts
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls, reconciliations and risk management processes and ensure regulatory compliance
• Build and lead a small team as the Business scales

Required knowledge and experience for the Head of Finance role:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably in lending or financial services or PE Backed Business
• Advanced financial modelling skills and experience in complex forecasting
• Strong knowledge of cashflow management and liquidity planning (ideally in a lending environment)
• Demonstrable experience of preparing Management Accounts / Statutory Accounts and Investor Reporting
• Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills
