Head of Finance

Grafton Banks Finance is working with a successful SME business, in the Care sector, to recruit their new Head of Finance.

The Head of Finance is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the business’s financial management. This role ensures the businesses financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and supports decision-making through high-quality financial insight and reporting.

We are looking for a qualified accountant with a background in SME business who is skilled in financial control. Strong team management is essential as is the energy and drive to make improvements to processes, systems, and controls, and to add commercial value.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of the financial strategy.
• Advise the CEO and SLT on financial planning, risk, and performance.
• Contribute to organisational strategy and business planning as a member of the senior leadership team.
• Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place and adhered to.
• Manage the preparation of annual accounts and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and other regulatory bodies.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

Our client is based near Burgess Hill and this role is 4 days per week onsite, the offices are modern and set in a great location. Salary is up to £75,000 + car allowance, private healthcare, pension, 25 days holiday, and free lunches daily.
