Overview:
A well-established manufacturing business based in Hull is seeking a commercially focused and technically strong Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role for a driven and qualified finance professional who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. You'll lead the finance function, deliver accurate management reporting, and contribute to strategic decision-making at board level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly management accounts cycle.
• Own the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing variance analysis.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis on profitability, cost control, and margin performance.
• Prepare and present monthly board packs to the leadership team.
• Manage cash flow forecasting.
• Oversee inventory and stock reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, external regulations, and audit readiness.
• Partner with other departments (sales, operations, procurement) to support commercial goals.
• Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and reporting efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a small finance team.

Role Requirements :

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 3 years' post-qualified experience.
• Proven experience in management accounting, reporting, and team leadership.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102 and VAT.
• Confident preparing board-level reports and communicating financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proficient with Excel and finance systems.
• Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Background in manufacturing or similar environment
• Experience managing stock and inventory from a financial perspective.
