Job Title: Head of Finance

Location: Walsall

Salary: £80,000 - £90,000

Top of the salary range will be offered to a candidate that is ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified or QBE with 3-5 years’ experience in analytical finance roles.

Are you a strategic and analytical finance leader ready to drive strategic growth and operational excellence? I am working with a valued Reed client who is seeking a dynamic Head of Finance, ideally from the Construction industry, to join the senior management team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future the business!

The Role

As a key member of the management team, you’ll go beyond producing timely and accurate financial reports—you’ll act on them. You’ll identify opportunities for improvement, drive efficiency and enhance profitability across the business. This includes optimising ERP systems and the processes that feed into them.

You’ll lead the Finance function but this is more than a Finance role... Your analytical nature will be vital in identifying profit risks and opportunities, negotiating contracts and influencing strategic decisions!

Responsibilities Will Include:

• Be hands on in preparing monthly management accounts with variance analysis
• Lead cash flow forecasting and statutory returns (VAT, etc.)
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset register
• Develop capex proposals and secure asset finance
• Support strategic decision-making through business modelling
• Oversee the Accounts Payable and Receivable team
• Lead monthly business reviews with senior management
• Ensure accurate performance reporting and resolve anomalies
• Oversee costing and pricing strategies and develop commercial processes to drive continuous improvement
• Analyse market and sales data to identify growth opportunities

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally from the Construction industry.
• Be a strong leader with great team management skills that is analytically and strategically driven!
• Must be ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience (QBE), with a strong background in analytical roles!
• Be tech savvy! Comfortable with ERP systems and proficient with Microsoft Excel including complex modelling.
