Head of Finance

Job Description

I am excited to be working with a prestigious organisation based in the heart of Cardiff Bay who is looing for a Head of Finance.
My client is looking for a dynamic qualified Head of Finance for a 12 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
Responsibilities:
-· Contribute fully to the delivery of the organisations strategy across all areas of the business, providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers
· Manage the performance of the Finance team through effective recruitment, training, development and targets.
· To participate in business planning including the provision of three-year budgets, to support the funding models and other financial modelling as required by providing a robust challenge to all planning processes.
· Oversee the production of the annual budget and monthly monitoring through the management accounts.
· Oversee the preparation of the Statutory accounts and be responsible for liaison with the organisations External Auditors.
· Manage the taxation and obligations of the organisation.
· To oversee the delivery of the risk management framework and ensure the risk register is up to date for the organisation.
· Manage the finance systems to ensure that appropriate system controls are maintained. As part of continuous improvement ensure that any new modules are implemented as appropriate to business needs including performance measuring, removing waste and duplication from business processes and improving visibility and transparency.
· To monitor and review corporate and statutory reporting to ensure the timely compliance with all necessary financial requirements of external stakeholders and governing bodies .
· To ensure the company carries out good corporate governance practice.
· Prepare or co-ordinate clear and concise Board reports and present at Board meetings where required.
· In conjunction with other Heads of Department support the development of the strategic framework and directly contribute to the development and implementation of the corporate plan. Work with all other Heads of Department to develop and implement corporate and operational improvement projects.
Skills:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Hold a relevant accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIPFA)
- Extensive experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Knowledge of financial services and products
- Excellent financial management capabilities with a strategic mindset
