Head of Finance (Commodities Trading)

We are recruiting a Head of Finance for an established soft commodities trading business with a turnover of c£100mil who are going through an exciting growth phase. Their head office is in London with a European subsidiary.

You will ensure robust financial controls and procedures, supporting the company initiatives and enhancing financial awareness across the business, working closely with the Managing Director to drive financial strategy and strive for operational excellence.

The core Key Responsibilities will include strategic planning, financial reporting, control & risk management as well as leading and managing a team of 5. This is a great opportunity to join a business where you can make a positive impact and changes to support their growth plans.

Person Specification

• Graduate with professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA. This is essential.
• Strong financial and accounting knowledge, staying updated on industry trends and changes in financial regulations
• A minimum of 10 years PQE
• Experience of implementing hedge accounting in a commodity trading environment. This is essential.
• High level proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications, preferably including Power BI.
• Consistent record of delivering strategic, complex and cross-functional projects from definition to completion.
• Exceptional skills in building and optimising financial controls in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders
• Strong leadership skills and the capacity to drive finance team performance
