Grafton Banks Finance is working with a growing Law Firm, with offices across the South East, to recruit its new Head of Finance.

Reporting to the Senior Partner this broad and hands on role will lead the firms finance department, managing a small team. The firm is growing and this role will provide commercial support to the partners and look to add value through the improvement of processes, controls, and systems.

We are looking for a qualified accountant (Qualified by Experience also considered) who is experienced leading small team to deliver financial control and who has gained similar experience in a law firm (absolutely essential).

Key tasks:

• Working with the management team to formulate and implement a robust financial strategy, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities to increase the profitability of the business.
• Providing financial advice and support to the business to enable sound business decisions to be made.
• Overseeing the day-to-day running of all aspects of the firm’s accounts.
• VAT returns and compliance with all aspects of the tax regime.
• Management of budgets and the budgeting process.
• Reporting on monthly cash flow, billings, work in progress and debtors as required by the Management Team.
• Production of monthly management information reports.
• Production of reports and data for the firm’s statutory accounts and year-end annual audit.
• Management of any Finance department improvement projects.

This role will be based out of our clients Brighton offices. It will initially be full time in the office based with hybrid working an option once successful completion of probation. Salary for this role is up to £75,000 + benefits.
