Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be recruiting for a Head of Finance to join a well-established and purpose-driven organisation in West Wales. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for ensuring financial integrity, supporting effective governance and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will lead the finance function, provide strategic financial leadership and work closely with senior stakeholders to support decision-making and organisational performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys operating at both a strategic and operational level whilst making a meaningful contribution to the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and treasury management activities. Prepare annual statutory accounts and oversee financial controls, payroll and financial procedures. Provide financial advice and support to senior leadership and governing members. Lead and develop the finance team whilst promoting continuous improvement across systems and processes. Support income generation activities and the identification of external funding opportunities. Build strong relationships with auditors, funding bodies and other key external stakeholders. Play an active role within the senior leadership team, helping shape future strategy and organisational performance. Ensure the organisation remains compliant with all relevant financial and regulatory requirements. What We're Looking For:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Significant senior finance leadership experience within a public sector, local government or similarly regulated environment. Experience working with senior leaders, boards, members or equivalent stakeholders. Strong budgeting, financial reporting, governance and treasury management experience. Proven people leadership and stakeholder management skills. Experience of Sage accounting software would be advantageous. Ability to speak Welsh confidently is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders where required. Why Join?
