Head of Food & Beverage

Simple Recruitment are looking for an enthusiastic Head of Food & Beverage for a permanent opportunity with our client in Bath.

Responsible for the front of house bar and catering operation to provide an excellent service to members and guests.

The Job:

• Support the Head Chef in creating casual bar and society and club event menus
• Work closely with the Office to record all events on IT system, and be responsible for planning and delivering the appropriate services
• Manage enquiries for meeting and private functions, liaising with the Office on suitability
• Deliver an excellent day-to-day service to our members and guests
• Support the Accounts function with responsibility that all charges are completed timely through the till systems and reconciliation of all taking
• Monitor cleanliness, maintenance and general appearance within the Clubhouse
• Responsible for recruitment, induction and training of front of house staff, ensuring appropriate training of H&S and Licensing
• Drawing up appropriate rosters and maintaining payroll information
• Cellar and Stock Management, including bar stock ordering, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring costs and pricing to maintain margins, and updating the till system
• Ensure the bar equipment, fixtures and fittings are regularly checked, maintained and repaired as necessary

The Salary:

£34,000 to £36,000 plus DOE

The Hours:

40 hours a week, (a flexible approach to hours week to week is required to meet the varying demands of the business. Hours are generally more in the summer (45 hours average) and less in winter (35 hours average)

About You:

• A "can do" attitude with a passion for customer service
• A flexible approach to hours. Whilst we provide favourable hours for the catering industry weeks vary.
• Ability to manage a small team, with a hands-on approach
• A team player and good communicator, capable of working with other departments
• Good interpersonal skills with a varied customer base
• Appropriate knowledge or qualifications to manage alcohol sales and associated H&S and food hygiene
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems
• Experience of running small functions and events
