Through a disciplined and proven 7- Step Model, we focus on addressing the root causes of offending, develop skills and provide opportunities to raise employability, secure employment and offer on-going support to sustain positive change. As well as supporting people to transform their lives, we also play a significant part in reducing the cost to society of reoffending.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead fundraising at Key4Life and work towards growing income to help the charity maximise its impact on young offenders and those at risk of offending.
We are looking for a confident relationship builder who is able to bring to life the importance of our work. You will be tasked with stewarding existing relationships and growing new income from trusts and foundations, corporate relationships, individual giving and HNWIs.
You will be part of our senior management team and working closely with our CEO, Head of Programmes, Finance Manager and Head of Operations and ensure that fundraising activity is in-line with the overall strategic plan of the charity.
You will be passionate about inspiring potential donors to help us realise our vision of helping people turn their lives around and move away from crime. You will also want to be part of a supportive, passionate and friendly team and contribute to Key4Life being a great place to work.
Responsibilities:
Identify, research and secure funding from a variety of income streams including trusts and foundations, businesses, high net worth individuals and individuals. (This role includes writing grant applications on a regular basis, including all sizes of grant).
Undertake prospect research to grow the fundraising pipeline and build relationships with new trusts, major donors and corporates to generate new income.
Work with the CEO and Finance Manager to identify funding priorities and agree project budgets.
Deliver excellent stewardship of Key4Life’s donors to encourage retention and income growth. This will include writing impact reports, planning meetings/updates and sending regular newsletters.
Support the wider team in the design and delivery of an annual gala event.
Work with the Finance Manager to ensure all donations are properly processed and recorded, and all thank you letters are completed in a timely fashion
Initially be responsible for the majority of the fundraising, building up to line managing a small staff team (as we develop the fundraising function).
Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. This includes adherence to fundraising best practices, data protection regulations, and transparency in financial reporting.
Skills and Requirements:
Strong experience of building and growing relationships with trusts and foundations, high net worth individuals, business leaders or similar senior stakeholders is essential.
Excellent copy writing that is compelling, effective and persuasive.
A proven track-record of creating and executing fundraising strategies and growing income over time is essential.

We welcome applications from everyone with relevant skills and experience. This includes minority ethnic people, people with disabilities, younger people, LGBTQ+ people and people with ‘lived experience’ relevant to our work
Flexible working:

We are looking for someone who can largely work during the normal working week, but we recognise that sometimes flexibility is needed to accommodate the rest of your life. We are therefore open to discussing flexible working with candidates.

We offer an auto-enrolment pension scheme or can sometimes support your private pension plan with up to 3% contributed by the charity. Full scheme details, including opt-out, can be discussed.
