You will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, influencing decision-making across workforce planning, organisational design, leadership capability, change management and employee experience.

This role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight. You will lead and develop the HR function, ensuring high-quality delivery across all areas of the employee lifecycle while driving continuous improvement, cultural development and organisational effectiveness.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial and people insight, the confidence to lead through change, and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Together, these teams make up the foundation of our business, driving our mission and fostering growth and development.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead People adviser to the Executive and Senior Leadership Team, influencing organisational strategy through a people and culture lens.
  • Line manage and develop the HR team, creating a culture of accountability, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee all core HR functions, including recruitment, learning and development, employee relations, wellbeing, payroll, and compliance.
  • Champion an inclusive, values‑led culture, embedding practices that promote diversity, equity, wellbeing, and psychological safety.
  • Strengthen HR policies, frameworks and systems, ensuring they are clear, consistent, and legally compliant.
  • Use HR data and insights to influence decision-making, identify trends, and measure impact across the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead complex and sensitive people matters, including restructures, senior‑level ER cases, and organisational design.
  • Drive continuous improvement in people practices, ensuring Enable remains agile, resilient, and a great employer.
  • Represent HR internally and externally, building trusted relationships and promoting Enable’s mission through its people.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience operating in a senior HR leadership role, ideally as a Head of HR, Head of People, Senior HR Business Partner or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing organisation-wide People strategies that support business performance, cultural development and organisational growth.
  • Proven ability to influence, challenge and advise senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong experience leading organisational change, transformation, restructures and complex workforce matters.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing HR teams and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance people priorities alongside operational and organisational objectives.
  • Expert knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and organisational governance.
  • Experience using people analytics, workforce insights and HR metrics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility across all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and employee wellbeing.

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified (or equivalent senior-level experience).
