Head of Indirect Tax

Great senior management opportunity for someone eager to influence global tax strategy, compliance, and transformation initiatives.

Our renowned global client are looking to appoint a Head of Indirect Tax who will play a key role in the global indirect tax function amid a rapidly evolving tax landscape.

Reporting to the Director of Group Finance, the role supports the delivery of a consistent and efficient global compliance approach while providing commercial indirect tax advice. This position is well-suited to a Senior Manager with a good amount of experience in indirect tax, ideally gained within a consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a key advisor to stakeholders across the group on indirect tax matters globally
• Provide technical VAT advice, particularly on UK VAT rules, place of supply, and digital services
• Support commercial contracts and transactions to manage indirect tax risk and optimise outcomes
• Lead and support global indirect tax projects, audits, and compliance improvements
• Drive process automation and digital reporting initiatives
• Oversee global VAT/sales tax registrations and compliance filings
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and authorities
• Support and mentor a compliance team based offshore

Ideal Experience & Skills:

• Professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA, ATT or equivalent)
• Deep knowledge of international VAT rules and reporting obligations
• Experience with automation and ERP/VAT tool implementation
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Team player with strong organisational abilities and commercial awareness
