Head of Infrastructure - Track

Leading the Rail infrastructure team for a Rail operator in the South East region.

• Location: - London

(Office-based 5 days a week, leading a team of 100 Rail professionals.)

• Salary: - £130,000 basic + Bonus + Travel + Package

Role Description:

The Resolute Group is proud to have been retained to identify and secure a Head of Infrastructure for a Rail operator in the South East of England. A key figure in the Leadership team, leading the Infrastructure team with the day-to-day repair and maintenance of the Track and associated Civil Engineering Infrastructure.

Leading a team of circa 100 Rail and Civil Engineering professionals to maintain an operational railway, covering a 24/7 work pattern. With a mixture of subject matter experts in P-Way / Track, Structures, Groundworks and Systems. The Head of Infrastructure is responsible for both daily operations and using a proactive reliability improvement asset management plan to deliver a safe and reliable service in adherence to safety, performance and cost expectations.

Daily duties will change depending on the requirements of the business but could include:

• Responsible for the Infrastructure (Track, Civils and Systems) maintenance business unit in terms of safety, asset performance and reliability.
• Sets strategic agenda for safety for all those involved in infrastructure activities, including the active management of the direct labour and contractors.
• Looking for continuous improvement & management opportunities, aiming to improve the performance and be compliant with contractual and statutory obligations.
• Accountable for delivering consistency in the maintenance & fault response programme in accordance with the annual budget, with the goal of ensuring that it is delivered within the agreed set targets.
• To ensure that issues & incidents are investigated adequately and process & procedural changes to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the railway.

This role is office-based, 5 days a week, as you will need to a visible leader, supporting 24/7 teams across 4 different disciplines. With section leaders managing their respective teams, you will be reporting in to the MD for the region. Working alongside the other members of the senior leadership team.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Civil Engineering degree ideally or associated qualification (HNC / HND)
• Railway experience, at this level, managing various disciplines, you will need to have been a leader in the railway industry before.
• Experience in Track / Civil Engineering is preferred against other Railway disciplines.
• Due to the role being office-based you need to be living in and around the London region.
