New Opportunity: Head of Internal Audit – Wholesale Banking

I'm currently partnering with a leading wholesale bank to appoint a Head of Internal Audit - a critical leadership role offering real influence at board level.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking wholesale bank as they continue to strengthen their governance and risk frameworks. The successful candidate will lead the internal audit function, reporting directly to the Audit Committee and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the internal audit strategy and annual audit plan.
• Deliver high-quality, risk-based audits across all business areas.
• Provide independent assurance to the Board and Executive Committee.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators and external auditors.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive internal audit experience within wholesale or investment banking.
• Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements (PRA/FCA).
• Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach.
