Are you an experienced legal leader ready to shape the legal strategy of a values-driven, high-impact organisation at the heart of healthcare and public procurement?

We're looking for a Head of Legal to lead and elevate our in-house legal function. This is a pivotal role offering both strategic influence and day-to-day operational responsibility in a dynamic and highly regulated environment. The Role

As Head of Legal, you'll:

• Lead the legal team with vision, clarity, and care-ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality legal services across the organisation.

• Partner with leadership on key strategic initiatives, offering risk-aware and commercially sound legal counsel.

• Drive legal governance across a broad range of areas including public procurement, commercial contracts, compliance, data protection, and competition law.

• Oversee the legal review and negotiation of complex supplier and customer agreements in the healthcare and group purchasing space.

• Shape and implement contracting strategies that align with public procurement requirements and organisational objectives.

• Provide pragmatic advice on contentious issues, internal investigations, and compliance breaches.

• Mentor and develop legal talent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and legal excellence.

• Serve as the key point of contact for external counsel, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

• Qualified UK Solicitor or Barrister (England & Wales)

• Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience, with a strong grounding in public procurement and commercial law

• Proven experience in managing in-house legal teams and working in complex, regulated industries-healthcare experience a plus

• Demonstrated ability to balance risk with commercial objectives and communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues

• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience handling legal compliance matters including data protection, competition law, the Bribery Act, and related frameworks

• A proactive mindset, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under pressure

• Experience with group purchasing organisations or healthcare supply chains is highly desirable
