Exciting opportunity for a Legal Director to join a leading national business which is going through a period of expansion and change.

West Midlands based with Hybrid working.

Full or Part time (4 days per week) applications will be considered).

Arbuthnot Yon are working with a national well-known business retail business with a turnover of over £1bn.

The business is going through an exciting period of change, modernisation and expansion that require leadership support from the newly appointed Legal Director.

Forming part of the Senior Leadership team and reporting to the CEO, you will work closely with the CEO and Board leading the legal function.

You will lead strategic projects, advise on legal risk and act as Company Secretary to the Board.

This business is multifaceted in nature, and you will support the business with legal projects across commercial agreements, M&A, franchising, technology, property, compliance and corporate governance.

Key responsibilities include: Advising on strategic projects across commercial agreements, property, M&A, compliance and regulatory areas.

Overseeing the legal function and external lawyers ensuring that legal risk is being effectively managed.

as Company Secretary to the Board, working closely with shareholders and advising on corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

We are keen to hear from Senior Lawyers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and love what they do! Due to the varied nature of this business, you will thrive on working across different legal areas and you will be able to operate at both a strategic and operational level.

You will be at least 8 years PQE currently working in-house in leadership role (as a Head of / GC or Senior Lawyer) with experience gained in commercial legal work plus and experience gained in M&A, property, company secretarial would be beneficial.

The business has a hybrid (50%) working policy with an HQ in the West Midlands.
