The Role: As Head of Management Accounts, you will lead a small talented finance team responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful management accounts. Sitting on the senior finance team, you’ll play a strategic role in shaping financial processes and reporting across a complex organisation.
Main Duties:
Lead the management accounting function across circa 20 subsidiaries
Deliver monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts
Analyse and reconcile high-volume data (including over 2,000 bank accounts)
Improve financial reporting systems and compliance
Play a key role in audits and ensure technical compliance
Collaborate with internal departments and external banking partners and providers
Work closely with the Director of Finance and support technical projects
Deputise for senior finance leadership as needed
Drive improvements in forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes and support the development of a finance business partnering approach
The Successful Candidate:
Excellent background in management accounting in large or complex organisations
Experience consolidating multiple subsidiaries and handling large data sets
Exceptional Excel and spreadsheet skills
Able to start within 1 month
Highly collaborative with strong communication skills
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Desirable Experience (not essential):
Experience in not-for-profit, trade unions, or membership organisations
Previous experience managing finance staff
Familiarity with Microsoft NAV / Business Central
