The Head of Marketing: Public Programmes will play a vital role in promoting the work of The Place, working to attract audience members and participants to our performances, events and classes at the London venue and on tour, engaging more people in dance locally, nationally and internationally.
Working with the Director of Communications, theywill havealead role inthe strategic approach in communicating our public programmes, supporting the Director of Communications to also be able to focus attention on the London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) and broader institutional communications.
This post holder will oversee all Public Programmes marketing activities including cross-channel campaign development and delivery to keep our audience appraised of programmes and convert interest to sales; as well as monitoring audience makeup and evaluating campaigns to feed into organisational analysis and Arts Council England (ACE) reporting.
They will manage the Marketing Manager and the Marketing Officer who work across Public Programmes and London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) at The Place, and occasionally manage freelance marketeers on project-based work. In addition, they will manage and work closely with a large ream of freelance designers, filmmakers, photographers, and suppliers as needed.
The Head of Marketing: Public Programmes will work closely with the rest of the communications team to maximise opportunities to profile The Place in line with our brand values, including: working with the Press and PR Manager to support efforts to feature as much of our Public Programmes as possible in reviews, previews and blog posts; and collaborating with the Marketing Manager to profile connections with the London Contemporary Dance School (e.g. alumni performing in programmed work).
They will also work closely with our Projects Producers and Senior Producer in the Producing & Touring team, and with independent artists and producers, nurturing existing, and developing new relationships, with venues and partners of varying shapes and sizes across the UK.
