Head of MFL - Spanish & French | Secondary School | Bedfordshire Border | September Start

We are working with a welcoming secondary school located in a charming village on the Bedfordshire/Bedford border, seeking a Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to join their team from September 2025 on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced MFL teacher or existing Head of Department ready to lead and shape a successful languages department. The role has a teaching split of 80% Spanish and 20% French, with the capacity to drive forward the department's vision and inspire students through engaging, culturally rich lessons.

• Role: Head of MFL (Spanish & French)

• Start Date: September 2025

• Contract: Permanent, full-time

• Teaching split: 80% Spanish, 20% French

• Location: Small village on the Bedfordshire/Bedford border

• Key Stages: KS3-KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)

• Supportive leadership and a cohesive SLT

• Ambitious, inclusive, and forward-thinking school community

• Scope to shape curriculum and pedagogy within the department

• Beautiful rural setting with excellent transport links

• QTS and strong track record of delivering Spanish & French

• Prior leadership or middle leadership experience desirable

• Passionate about language learning and cross-cultural engagement

• Confident leading a small team and driving student outcomes
