Key Responsibilities

As Head of MFL, you will:

• Lead and manage the MFL department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all languages.


• Oversee curriculum planning, development, and assessment from KS3 to KS5, ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices.


• Foster a culture of excellence and enthusiasm for language learning, ensuring high student engagement and achievement.

Head of MFL – Experience & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A degree-level qualification in French, Spanish, German, or a related subject.


• A formal teaching qualification with QTS (e.g., PGCE).


• Proven experience in teaching MFL at KS3-KS5, with a strong track record of excellent student outcomes.


• Previous experience in department leadership or curriculum development (or the potential to step into a leadership role).


• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.


• A passion for promoting language learning and cultural awareness.


• Legal right to work in the UK.
