Head of Operations

Elevation Recruitment Group is supporting a well-established, privately-owned manufacturing business near Chesterfield in the appointment of a Head of Operations.

This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for site operations, covering manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing and logistics. The business produces high-volume consumer products for major UK retailers and operates a large, fast-paced production facility running 24/7.

Reporting into the board, the role will lead a team of around 250 and play a key role in shaping the operational strategy, driving performance and building capability across the site.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overall leadership of manufacturing, logistics, warehousing and planning functions
• Managing and developing teams across a multi-shift, high-volume operation
• Leading continuous improvement activity across safety, quality, cost and delivery
• Supporting cross-functional collaboration with commercial and engineering teams
• Building a culture of ownership, accountability and operational excellence

We are looking for candidates with:

• A strong operational leadership background within a manufacturing environment
• Recent experience of running large-scale teams and complex site operations in excess of 250 FTEs
• A track record of delivering performance improvements and cost reduction
• A hands-on, people-focused approach with the ability to lead from the front
• Experience in packaging, container or plastics manufacturing would be highly desirable
