Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, this is a high-impact opportunity to shape and deliver the People strategy across a portfolio of growing businesses. We are looking for an experienced senior HR leader - someone commercially astute, credible at Board/SLT level and able to balance strategic leadership with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
The role You'll take overall leadership of the People function, including: - Developing and delivering a Group-wide People strategy aligned to commercial objectives. - Acting as a strategic partner to the Exec and senior leadership teams. - Leading and developing a multi-site People team. - Supporting acquisitions, due diligence, integration and organisational change. - Driving culture, engagement and high performance across the Group. - Leading talent, succession and workforce planning. - Developing leadership capability and learning & development. - Overseeing senior recruitment and the wider talent acquisition strategy. - Using People metrics and KPIs to influence strategic decision-making and reporting to senior leadership and investors. - Developing the EVP and employer brand to support attraction and retention. - Overseeing reward, benefits, HR systems and People budgets. - Providing senior-level guidance on complex and sensitive ER matters. - Ensuring People policies and practices remain commercially effective and legally compliant.
This is a strategic role, but within a growing SME environment you'll remain close to the businesses and their people - you won't be afraid to roll your sleeves up when required. What we're looking for You'll ideally bring: - 5+ years' experience operating at Head of People/Head of HR or equivalent level. - Experience partnering directly with CEOs, MDs and senior leadership teams. - Strong commercial acumen and the ability to link People strategy to business performance. - Experience within a fast-paced, high-growth SME environment. - A track record of leading businesses through growth, transformation and change. - Broad expertise across talent, culture, engagement, succession, organisational design and ER. - Experience building and developing high-performing People teams. - Strong employment law knowledge. - CIPD Level 7, Master's or equivalent senior-level experience. - Multi-site experience would be advantageous. - Manufacturing experience would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate what they have delivered, changed and improved - and the commercial impact they have made. Regular travel to other UK sites
