Job Description
Gleeson Procurement are currently partnering with an internationally renowned Transportation business in their search for a Head of Procurement.
The role will lead a large team across both Direct and In-Direct Procurement, reporting directly to the UK CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation, development and coordination of a company-wide procurement policy to control costs at all levels, rationalising purchasing and educating employees on the purchasing process.
Development of an annual business plan to meet customer expectation
Implement clear Key Performance Indicators to clearly monitor performance and continue to drive continuous improvements to contribute to the overall success of the business, by supporting each business area as required.
Lead the relationship with suppliers to ensure delivery of EBIT and the balancing of short and developing the long term supplier relationship where it is commercially advantageous for the business. negotiating key commercial contracts, manage the negotiation process within the business and establish standard contractual models for use with suppliers.
Manage and mitigate risk through clear risk management disciplines.
Motivate the Procurement team to ensure the most cost effective procurement process, including provision of market information and best buying system to deliver measurable savings.
Development of a clear Category/Supplier Strategy and a consistent management in terms of qualification, evaluation and development to ensure continuous supply.
Interaction with International Teams and other UK entities to seize the opportunities from bundling purchasing volumes by applying maximum supplier leverage. Including collaboration with other UK entities where possible.
Engage and energise all team members to contribute to the success of the business based on effective communication both upwards and downwards, timely feedback on performance and providing realistic opportunities for career development through continuous development.
The Ideal Candidate:
Strong Indirect Procurement background
Experienced in Supplier Relationship Management
Operated in a Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing or Rail business
