Job Description - Head of Quality

An innovative, UK-based aerospace company is seeking a Head of Quality to lead its expanding quality function. This senior role ensures compliance with AS9100 and export regulations while supporting high-profile space propulsion projects in a fast-paced R&D environment.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee quality engineering, product assurance, supplier quality, and internal systems, ensuring delivery of complex programmes to exacting standards.

Head of Quality
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a multi-site quality team.
Own and evolve the QMS (AS9100) and ensure regulatory compliance.
Drive quality input across project lifecycles from bid to delivery.
Lead internal/external audits and manage CAPAs.
Ensure supplier quality oversight and continuous improvement.
Support training and development across quality functions.
Act as escalation point for non-conformances and customer quality issues.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Proven experience in a senior Quality, leadership role.
Strong leadership experience in regulated, high-precision sectors (e.g. aerospace, defence, automotive).
In-depth understanding of QMS frameworks (AS9100).
Experience managing audits, supplier quality, and non-conformance resolution.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and quality-related systems/tools.
